Food
The Pacific Northwest Native Americans did not farm. They mainly ate seafood and plants from the forest. There was an endless stream of salmon and other fish from the ocean. On one fishing trip they brought back hundreds of fish. That was enough for a family to eat for the year. The people would then smoke the fish to preserve it for later. There was also a thick forest and enough plants to eat. Walnuts and berries were popular and also stored for the winter.
