Some of the tribes of the Pacific Northwest Native Americans are listed above. There are many other tribes as well. Most of the tribes originated in Russia and crossed the Bering Strait. They still have many similarities with tribes in Siberia, including their beadwork. Their languages are also related to the Russian tribes.
The Pacific Northwest Native Americans built canoes using red cedar trees because of the water-proof bark. They wore very little clothing except for when it was cold. In the summer the women wore skirts of soft leather or bark. Men wore small coverings and during ceremonies they wore headdresses.
